The NSTA National Conference is coming into town next week . Though their web site hasn't been updated, I've been added as a presenter on a Saturday workshop panel. Plus I'll be signing books at the Arbordale Publishing booth. I mention these because WAY back I illustrated book covers for the NSTA Press and I see all four are still available for sale on their website!

The art is now finished for two new books to be sent to the printers! Being released this fall will be Animal Partners, written by Scotti Cohn, Arbordale Publishing 2014. I can't say enough about this book - I simply love it! It immediately jumped to one of my all-time favorites! Please take a look at its web page here.
I also finished the art for a spring 2015 Charlesbridge release, Butterfly Counting, written by Jerry Pallotta. This is the full 32 page trade book that follows up the 10 page board book, Butterfly Colors and Counting which was released last spring and became a huge hit! Here's its Kirkus Starred Review. PLUS it made their list of TEN BOOKS EVERY BABY SHOULD HAVE STARTING FROM DAY ONE. WOW! in addition to a 20 by Jenny pick among many, many others!
I'm giving a small spoiler away with Butterfly Counting. Of course, the book is overflowing with my beautiful butterflies - but as an added bonus page 32 has a grasshopper! I'm sharing him as we leap into Spring!
A cropped version of the grasshopper will be up soon on Picture Book Artists Association's Spring Edition.
Still.... the BIGGEST excitement is my author/illustrated picture book being released by Arbordale Publishing in the spring of 2015!
Also coming up in 2015, keep an eye out for a new Scholastic alphabet book I'm illustrating for Jerry Pallotta. More on that to follow.
